Top 10 Blenders

Create smoothies, shakes, soups and dressings

If you're a a whiz in the kitchen there's one thing that your kitchen cannot be without. A blender. A blender is one of the simplest yet most useful tools you can ever have in your kitchen.

Blenders and juicers are two of the most interesting appliances that are available for the kitchen. Many people have the major appliances in their homes, such as fridges and ovens, and most people will have the smaller appliances such as toasters and microwaves. While these are all popular kitchen appliances, blenders and juicers are some of the most useful appliances available.

A blender is simply a base with a motor inside it that drives a rotating blade. The blade is located in a container which locks onto the base to engage the motor, and when you start your blender that rotating blade spins extremely fast. With very sharp edges just about any food placed in the blender will be chopped up into small pieces.

So, what are the key things you should look for when buying a blender for your kitchen? The purpose or utility of the blender; the brand, price and performance are the key factors to put into consideration. You want to buy a blender that is best suited to what you intend to use it for - you should expect to have maximum performance for what you want to do with your blender. The amount of money you're prepared to spend on your blender will also influence the type of blender you will get.

Easy To Clean

Ease of cleanup is a BIG thing to look for. Not all blender containers are dishwasher safe. This doesn't mean they are difficult to wash. Many of them advertise that you can just put hot water in the jug with a little soap, put the lid on and turn it all. Cleanup complete. That doesn't sound too bad.

Power

The more power the blender has, the more easily it can make your smoothies, the more smooth they will be, etc. We recommend finding a blender that has at least 800 watts. You may not think you need that much power, but we promise you won't regret it.

Quality

You want to find a blender feels well made and of a high quality. Sure, we can go get one off any chain store for probably less than $50, but will it last? Will it hold up to what you need it to do? Do you want to replace it every year (if not more)? Rather spend extra money and buy a blender that you feel like is high quality and can take your high use demands. A high quality blender should feel well put together, and feel strong.

Locking Lid

Many people really like the locking lids.

Jug Size

Make sure that whatever blender you end up purchasing comes with a jug that is more than what you will need. You'll regret it if you don't. If you get one that you think is just the right size, it will almost always end up being too small at some point. Go for the bigger jug. Better safe than sorry!
